1/31/2012 -The Official’s Night out was a huge success, we raised over $7000 for the NHFOC (New Haven Football Official's Charity) to distribute throughout the year to Brother Officials in need and charities supported through fellow officials. Thanks go out to Board10, the basketball officials had a strong presence. A part of the proceeds generated this evening will be given to the family of Doug Chernovetz. Doug, the son of IAABO Commissioner Buddy Chernovetz, passed away suddenly and with the donations from Board 10 and the overall success of the night, we will present a check of $2000 to help the family out in their time of need. A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to all who donated or solicited prizes for the raffle, but a special thanks to the following for donations to the LIVE Auction, Steve Narracci, Jimmy Brennan, Mike Barbaro and Jeff Rotteck. Also thanks to the auctioneer Ralph Zingarella and Mike Lindberg for making it exciting. For the first time this year we had a silent auction with sports memorabilia and this raised almost $1000 for the night with the help of Tim Stanton.
